Personality Test

Based on the Work of Myers, Briggs and Jung

This free personality test helps you uncover your unique personality profile. Our assessment builds on the work of Carl Jung, and follows in the tradition of tools developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and Katharine Cook Briggs. While not identical to the MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®), our test applies similar principles to reveal your personality type in an accessible, easy-to-understand format.

Discover Your Personality

This test is independently developed by BlossomUp and is one of the few free personality tests designed with attention to internal consistency and result reliability. We apply statistical controls to ensure that the feedback you receive offers a helpful starting point on your journey of self-awareness. Personality tests like this one are not intended to give a definitive diagnosis or label, but rather to offer a structured framework to explore the way you process the world around you. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI, and other such names are registered trademarks of The Myers & Briggs Foundation. BlossomUp is not affiliated with any of these entities or their publications.

The original intent behind personality type testing was to offer individuals a deeper understanding of themselves in order to live more purposeful and fulfilling lives. During World War II, Isabel Briggs Myers, together with her mother Katharine Cook Briggs, developed the first version of a psychological inventory that adapted Carl Jung’s theories into a practical, pen-and-paper format. Over the course of two decades, they refined the assessment by testing it on friends and family and improving its accuracy and usability. Their motivation was rooted in the belief that if people could recognize their own preferences and natural ways of thinking, they could make more informed decisions especially when it came to relationships, careers, and self-development. While BlossomUp’s personality test is not affiliated with the MBTI® or its publishers, it draws from the same psychological roots and serves a similar purpose: to help people better understand the invisible dynamics that shape their thoughts, actions, and patterns of interaction. Personality, like a fingerprint, is shaped by both biology and life experiences, and while it can evolve over time, it also reflects enduring traits that help define who we are. Our goal is to help you make sense of those traits in a modern, relevant, and meaningful way.

Why Take This Test?

1. 100% free and made for real insight.
Our personality test is completely free. You’ll receive a four-letter personality code based on Jungian theory, offering a snapshot of your core tendencies and how you interact with the world around you.

2. Built for a global audience.
Our test has been taken by users from around the world, across diverse cultural backgrounds. It’s designed to be relevant and relatable whether you’re in North America, Europe, Asia, or beyond.

3. Thoughtfully validated.
Responses are anonymously recorded and analyzed. While no test is perfect, we’ve worked hard to make sure your outcome reflects your actual personality traits.

4. Expert-made.
Our team has experience building psychological tools and has spent years working with typology. This test reflects our understanding of the theory.

It is important to understand that no personality test no matter how comprehensive can define you with complete precision or authority. However, when designed thoughtfully and grounded in research, these tools can offer an accessible introduction to the theory of personality types and the patterns that emerge from them. Our test, while free and not affiliated with the Myers-Briggs Company or the MBTI®, has been developed to reflect the original psychological principles proposed by Jung and expanded by Myers, Briggs, and other thought leaders in the field. The result is a reliable, user-friendly experience that allows you to explore your type, understand how it manifests in your daily life, and identify strengths and challenges tied to your personality. By using language that mirrors the original typology but making it approachable for the modern user, we aim to make the self-discovery process both enlightening and practical. Whether you’re using your results to reflect on personal relationships, team dynamics, or career decisions, this test is designed to provide a meaningful foundation—one that encourages curiosity, not constraint, and invites further exploration into who you are and how you operate in the world.
